Where we can go

Lamin Rice Field and Abuko Nature Reserve

Lamin Rice Field and Abuko Nature Reserve, with a lunch break at Lamin Lodge, and various bird hides where you can take beautiful pictures of many bird species, especially the smaller ones. A good number of birds are seen here, for example turacos, bluebills, Brown-throated Wattle-eyes and kingfishers.

Brufut and Tanje

Many birds are seen at Brufut and Tanje, for example Verreaux’s Eagle-Owls, Long-tailed Nightjars and Yellow-throated Leafloves. An afternoon visit to the famous fish market in Tanji is also possible.

Kartong

Kartong is a good area to spot Goliath Herons, Long-crested Eagles, barbets, Senegal Batis and kingfishers.

Gunjur Konoto Forest

Here I have my own photo hide. Gunjur Konoto Forest is the only known place in the country to see the Capuchin Babbler. It is also a good area for Western Bluebills, Green Hylias and African Pygmy Kingfishers.
